Livelihood and economic empowerment of widows and households

Working in our targeted communities over the years, has led ETF to understand that, women need encouragement in issues that concerns them, like empowerment, recognition of women right etc. This will not only reduce poverty, but also promote economic growth of the country in which they live.

Government can-not do it all alone. ETF can-not do it alone either, but ETF cannot see the problem, and fold her hands to watch. We just have to join Government, CSOs and other philanthropists to contribute our own quota towards alleviation of the plight of the less privileged ones in our targeted communities, hence ETF with support from CAPITAL FM 92.9 RADIO HOUSE ABUJA intervention. The project commenced with selection of widows as Beneficial of the project. The selected widows were trained on business management and book-keeping. The participants were taught on keeping various records of business for sustainability. The total of 33 widows were selected. This program took place in 2010 Mbaadam Community in Vandeikya LGA Benue State.

Some among the beneficiaries testified that they have never seen this kind of support before and they call on CBOS and other partners to emulate what ETF and CAPITAL FM 92.9 had done for the less privileged ones in the society.
